Kalayaan Group of Islands Structures

Updated: Mar 20, 2024

The Philippine government plans to develop major infrastructure projects on Kalayaan Islands. These structures are likely to include facilities that support patrols in the country's exclusive economic zone (EEZ) and assert Philippine presence in the area. The initiatives may involve the construction of airports, seaports, and possibly even tourism and business destinations. This development comes in response to increased Chinese incursions in the West Philippine Sea and is part of the country's efforts to protect its sovereign territory.

The proposed designs showcased herein are conceptual frameworks for the development of airports, seaports, military installations, tourist hotspots, and commercial hubs. These infrastructures are envisioned to rise within an archipelago setting, drawing inspiration from indigenous renewable resources that embody the rich tapestry of Filipino culture and values.
