"More than thirty artists have been invited to participate, each offering a personal and original reflection on the challenges that humanity must face today, whether they are ecological, social, human or economic in nature."
In the stillness of a room where shadows and light dance in silent harmony, an installation standsโa ladder, not just of wood and metal, but of hope and perseverance. Each rung, a testament to the battles fought within the mind's intricate labyrinth. The objects placed upon it, books or perhaps memories, are the tangible pieces of a puzzle that is life with mental disturbances. They are neatly arranged, yet they represent the chaos of thoughts, the flipping of reality by schizophrenic whispers. But there is order in this chaos, a path laid out by divine design. The ladder does not just lead upwards; it represents a journey in both directionsโtowards the depths of introspection and the heights of salvation. It is a climb that is both arduous and enlightening, where each step taken is a fitting of one's soul into the corners of existence. And though the climb may seem reversed by the gravity of negativity, the direction remains steadfastโtowards a heaven that awaits with open arms. For in this artistic expression, one finds that despite being turned upside down, the essence remains unchanged, crafted purposefully by a Creator who guides with an unseen hand, directing each of us towards an eternal home.
In the embrace of the exhibit titled "Come What May," I find solace in its Filipino echo, "Bahala Na," derived from "Bathala Na," a phrase that entrusts one's fate to the divine. It whispers a serene surrender, a belief that God will provide and ease the burdens we carry. This sentiment resonates deeply, mirroring the faith that guides me through the labyrinth of my own psyche, past the distortions of mental tribulations, and towards the light of salvation. It is a reminder that amidst the tumult of life's puzzles and the gravity of our struggles, there is a higher power that ensures our path remains trueโtowards the purpose for which we were created, towards the divine direction we are meant to follow.
